Residential and Commercial Landlord-Tenant Law
Landlord-Tenant Law is a primary practice area of Griffin Alexander, P.C.; with the firm representing corporate landlords, management companies and individual landlords throughout New Jersey and New York. We are proud to represent over 70 apartment buildings/communities assisting them in all areas of landlord-tenant law.
Griffin Alexander P.C. assists in the preparation of leases, drafts building rules and policies, and provides advice and guidance to insure that a landlord’s policies comply with the law. We also handle the eviction process (from filings, to court appearances, to coordinating a lockout) for all types of evictions; including but not limited to non-payment of rent cases, as well as eviction for “cause.” We make sure that all notices required under the law are prepared and served upon the appropriate parties.
We are also pleased to provide representation for landlords with respect to rent control issues, including appearances at rent control hearings. In addition, we represent landlords against Federal Fair Housing Complaints and in Building Code Violations.
Here at Griffin Alexander, P.C., we believe in having our clients prepared to decrease controversies so as to avoid unnecessary litigation or other legal entanglements. However, we know that even with the best and most thorough policies in place, issues will still arise in which landlords require legal representation. When those situations arise, Griffin Alexander, P.C. is ready to assist the landlord and represent its client vigorously.
